Year 10 wow audience at Hall for Cornwall

As part of The National Theatre’s Connections 500 project, Fowey River Academy students performed ‘Take Away’ by Jackie Kay. The group had been rehearsing since November 2015 and already performed a show here at the Academy with a director from The National Theatre in the audience. That evening at school was a great success and you may recall the feedback the group received from David Ralfe was excellent.

It felt like the show would be impossible to improve but the group set to work applying feedback and the transfer to the Hall for Cornwall was expected to be equally as engaging. With a stage twice the size of the one the students are familiar with and performing alongside students from Truro and Callington colleges, they not only held their own but exceeded all expectations; we were all very proud of their achievements. Thank you Sean Hurlock for these incredible photos.
