Cornwall College Experience Day

On Thursday 7th July Year 10 participated in an experience day held at Cornwall College across three campus sites, St Austell, Duchy Stoke Climsland and Newquay. Students had previously selected a course which they wanted to try out and were not disappointed! At Duchy Stoke Climsland students tried their hand at tractor driving and visited the College Farm. Equestrian students spent the day in the stables grooming horses and finding out what courses would be like. At Newquay three students attended a session on Animal Management which included a visit to Newquay Zoo. At St Austell students took part in a typical A level timetable taking subject tasters in Humanities, Science and Maths as well as Psychology, Sociology Media, Film Studies and Photography. Many students participated in a range of vocational options from catering, hairdressing, music, construction, childcare, travel and tourism, sport and fitness to name a few.

The Highlights in St Austell were Dan Ovens winning a tool kit for making the best initials out of wiring in the Engineering section! William Linley and Lennon Retallick demonstrating the safety procedures in a simulated aircraft take off!
