War Memorial study by students

Mr Bayes’s lunchtime History Club took part in its first activity on Friday 21st September with a visit to the War Memorial in the centre of Fowey.

The club’s first project, which is built around the forthcoming Remembrance Day services, will explore both wars from a local perspective. It began with a trip to discover the names of those who died during WWI and WW2.

Mr Bayes says: “In the next few weeks students will be researching these names to find out where and when these combatants died and why they are on the town’s Memorial. We hope to develop some personal stories that can be shared with our community.”

Any students interested in joining History Club can attend on Thursday at 12:50 in H6.
