Cross Country at Pool

By Rebecca, Year 7 Race Reporter

Nine determined runners travelled to Pool School, which was the venue for the second Cross Country fixture of the term on 22nd October.

Nearing the destination, the sky filled with some heavy cloud, and adrenaline was running rapidly through the veins of the Fowey team as we reached Pool.

When we arrived, conditions were standard: a little muddy, but not too bad for the 150 competitors. First to race were Year 7 and 8 girls in the 1500 metres. The course turned out to be more challenging than we thought, even though it was as flat as a pancake. Next up were the Year 7 and 8 boys for the 1500 metres, and they ended up completing an extra lap.

Finally, it was the turn of the Year 9 and 10 boys and girls in the 2000 metres. Our runners achieved some amazing results and they represented the school well in our smart new kit.
