GCSE Art students welcomed Helson-based artist Melanie Young on 16th November for a lesson on press printing.
Taking inspiration from colourful works of art, Year 11 students etched images into tiles of foam, then used a roller to layer paint across the tile, before repeating the exercise in other colours.
Shannon, 15, said: “We could choose any of the Grayson Perry pictures as inspiration. I am creating a print of a person which will have different colours to accent parts so they stand out.”
The lesson forms part of the students’ GCSE preparation, with the new skills developed today feeding into their final exams.
