Switch It Off Fortnight delivered some great results this week at Fowey Community College.
Students monitored the school’s energy use and worked towards lowering this with a campaign to encourage everyone to switch off lights, gadgets and anything not being used, thereby saving money as well as helping conserve natural resources. The initiative is one of a series of campaigns organised by EDF Energy as part of its Programme for Greener Schools.
Between 19th November and 2nd December, the whole school was involved in saving power and we are delighted to announce the following results (the data excludes weekends):
5th November to 9th November and 12th November to 16th November:
Energy use: Week 1: 1265kw; Week 2: 1279kw
Switch it Off Week: 19th November to 23rd November and 26th November to 30th November
Energy use: Week 1: 1218kw; Week 2: 1248kw
Overall saving: 78Kw
Well done to everyone involved and to our green team for promoting this activity across the school.
