Four intrepid Year 11 students, joined by a student from Looe Community Academy, held a sleepover in an Eden Project biome on Friday 15th March. The activity formed part of their extensive fundraising efforts for a month-long Camps International expedition to Borneo in July.
Jake, Abi, Eve and Tanya have worked tirelessly for the last 12 months to each raise £4000 for the trip to this tropical island to work in the local community. So far the students have held coffee mornings, or taken part-time jobs at evenings and weekends, to raise the funds. In addition, Jake’s dad Mr Law shaved his head and held a raffle for a piece of his artwork to raise money for the community the students will be visiting.
The students camped in tents inside the biome safely avoiding the overnight rain outside.
The next day Jake continued his fundraising effort with a coffee morning at Fowey Sports Hub raising a further £135 for his trip fund.
