Fowey’s Got Talent

After a week of rehearsals, Fowey’s Got Talent 2013 took place to a packed house.

Our judges, the BBC’s Naomi Kennedy, and Fowey Primary headteacher Chris Wathern, had some really tough decisions to make at the end of the night after a varied, creative and high-energy show.

There were three winning categories: Best Solo Act, Best Ensemble and Best Group.

The Best Solo went to Benji, who opened the show with his own composition, singing without a hint of nerves. Best Group featured Liam, Aiden, Rory and Sean, whose creative rap about the end of Flexi Thursday delighted the audience.

The Overall Winner was an ensemble featuring Rosie, Katie and Amelia. Judge, Mrs Kennedy, said: “The guitar from Amelia was so unintrusive and your voices complemented each other so well.”

Mrs Kennedy also interviewed the group for her BBC Radio Cornwall show at 15:00 on Friday. Listen on iPlayer for 6 days from Friday 5th July.
