Four Fowey students are delighted to have been selected for the new Cornwall Girls Choir and will perform at the Royal Albert Hall on 13th November in the Schools Prom Concert.
Miss Giles says: “It is fantastic that Cornwall now has a county youth girls choir. This gives young people from all over the county the opportunity to sing together, have fun, and to perform at a high level.”
Angela Renshaw, Cornwall Education Music Hub Vocal Strategy Lead, says: We are absolutely delighted and encouraged by the high quality of singing that we have discovered in our young students. Cornwall Girls Choir is a brand new choir for girls in academic Year 5 through to Year 10 who are selected by a short audition process through recommendation of their own schools.”
She adds: “We now have county choir opportunities for children from the age of 6 to 15, with further developments intended in early 2014 for the 15-plus students.”
