Schools showjumping

A team of Fowey Community College students took part in the Western Hunt School Showjumping Competition on Sunday 3rd November at the Resparveth Equestrian Centre, securing second place from a total of 15 school teams.

A number of categories counted towards the overall points total, including a tack & turnout category and two jumping rounds of 2’3″ and 2’6″.

Lucy in Year 11 joined Hannah and Sophie in Year 8, and Chloe in Year 10, in a combined performance which led the team to an excellent second place against teams from Truro High, Penrice, Roseland, Newquay Tretherras, Newquay Treviglas, Pool, Mounts Bay, Cape Cornwall, Camborne, Redruth, Helston, Brannel and Mullion. The winning team was Penrice.

The girls are now looking forward to the next event in February. For more information on Western Hunt, a branch of The Pony Club, click here.
