Our Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver Award Year 11 students braved the weather between Friday 21st March and Sunday 23rd March in their qualifying expedition on Bodmin Moor.
Due to the conditions, the trek became a test of stamina as well as endurance.
Students camped on Friday and Saturday night, walking for three days. (For the Silver Award, students must spend at least 7 hours during the daytime engaged in activities, at least 3.5 of which must be spent journeying.)
Our DofE Coordinator, Mrs Wakeham, was impressed by the students’ commitment, including 6am starts.
Well done to everyone involved and thank you to our group of teachers for spotting.
