Year 8 student Hannah took part in a Pony Club Tetrathlon at the end of March and came 6th overall in her Novice Junior class.
The Pony Club Tetrathlon offers members a challenging competition requiring sound practical horsemanship and general athletic ability. It features running, riding, swimming and shooting, so entrants need to be both physically fit and also skilled in the various areas of the event.
The triathlon part of the event was held at Truro College, with the riding at Chiverton Cross.
Hannah, who represents North Cornwall, says: “There were 16 in the class and I was 4th in the triathlon; after the ride I came in 6th.” Hannah also achieved the best shooting score.
She adds: “The riding is definitely my favourite part. All the different Pony Clubs hold events at different times; we have Dartmoor soon.”
