Year 10 Fowey Community College students recently joined their peers from Hayle, Redruth and Devonport High School for Girls for a Maths Challenge Day at Plymouth University.
The students attended a variety of sessions which explored real-life applications of Maths, including calculating the point of mass and exploring Maths in the world of business and commerce. Students were divided into teams to compete for prizes before lunch at the Student Union and a lecture on giant bubbles.
Well done to Issy, Fergus, Ben, Hugh and Letitia, who won second prize in the team challenge event. Mr Smith presented the students with mugs in the Year 10 assembly on 8th May.
