Congratulations to our new team of Director Prefects for the 2014-15 academic year. Hugh Elworthy and India Whalley are Head Boy and Head Girl.
The selection process this year was very challenging for Mr Walker, Vice Principal, and Mr Smith, Head of Year 10 & 11, due to the high quality of applications.
Prefects are invited to apply by letter for the position of Director Prefect. The interviews take place across two days, and from the final list, Head Boy and Head Girl are then chosen.
The shortlist was the longest we have ever had, and to reflect the quality and calibre of our applicants, we have three more Director Prefects this year – 15 instead of the usual 12.
The team will have a key role in developing the future direction of student life in school. Head Boy and Head Girl attend all our governors meetings, where they are invited to contribute their ideas and thoughts. Members of the team are also required to speak at events and represent the school in the wider community.
Mr Perry said: “We are delighted to appoint our Director Prefects for the next school year. These are senior Prefects who hold extra responsibilities in the running of the academy. They are all outstanding individuals, and it was an extremely difficult job to choose the successful applicants. I am very pleased that Hugh and India have been appointed as Head Boy and Head Girl – I know they will be outstanding representatives for the academy.”
Please congratulate these students on their achievement.
