YOUNG authors in Fowey are celebrating after having their Grim Tales of the West Country stories chosen to feature in a new book.

Five pupils from Fowey River Academy have had their tales selected for the nationwide Young Writers Mini Saga competition special Anthology. The works selected for publication were chosen for their imagination, perception, expression and creative use of language.

The Anthology, titled Grim Tales of the West Country is scheduled for publication on Monday, August 31 and will be sent to the British Library and hundreds of other libraries across the UK and Republic of Ireland. The school hopes it will be a lasting record of the students’ achievement.
