This year’s Tywardreath Trotter running race takes place on Saturday 25th July. The Trotter is now in its tenth year and has become established as an extremely popular event in the Cornwall race calendar. Last year over 450 runners took part and almost £2,000 was raised for local charities.
This year the Trotter also features as Round 1 of the Cornwall Multi-Terrain Race Series – a series of 10 off-road races across the county.
The format of the race is unchanged from previous years. A 1-mile fun run starts at 5.30pm. The fun run is aimed at the under 16s but runners of any age can take part – Mums, Dads and grandparents are all welcome. All finishers receive a medal and there are prizes for the fastest 3 boys and girls in the under 16, under 12 and under 8 categories.
The main 7-mile race starts at 6.45pm. Entrants must be 16 or over. All runners receive a goodie bag including a Tywardreath Trotter T-shirt.
Both races are approximately 50% off road and are run on quiet country lanes and footpaths.
The races start and finish at the New Inn in the centre of Tywardreath. There is dedicated parking nearby, baggage storage and a barbecue.
Entries are accepted on the day but entries received before 18th July receive a £2 discount.
