On Wednesday 23rd September, we hosted our annual Careers Fair. This was an exciting opportunity for students to meet representatives of colleges, universities and employers. These included Happy Days Nurseries, Hawkins Motors, RIBA and Devon & Cornwall Police, to name a few.
The sectors covered included Leisure & Tourism, Engineering, Manufacturing, the Public Sector (including Health and Education), Media, Law, Surveying, Architecture, Agriculture and Construction.
The event was organised by Mrs Wakeham Academic IAG Advisor who said ” It was a truly fantastic day and we were all thrilled with the range of Employers, Education and Training providers who attended. I received some excellent feedback from students and staff as well as from the Exhibitors. Contact with Employers and Education providers who are enthusiastic and passionate about their own careers and courses is so important for our students and will help to inspire and motivate them to fulfil their potential. We want our students to raise their aspirations through exploring and discovering the many different career paths, entry routes and qualifications required. Events like this can make a huge difference to students’ decision making and enable them to make informed choices at 16.”
