Four representatives of our new Year 10 Business Studies Young Enterprise Team attended the official launch of this year’s Company Programme earlier this month. Inspiring presentations were delivered by the two keynote speakers: Grant Batty, who won the Nationals for Young Enterprise in 2005 and now runs the very successful video production company Pixelrain; and Ernest Capbert, who co-founded the cold water surf company Finisterre and, more recently, whobuysyourstuff.com. Our representatives then teamed up with our new Business Adviser, Nick Griffiths of Love Fowey, in an “Apprentice” type workshop, presenting their ideas to a packed audience of delegates from Cornish schools and colleges and Young Enterprise Board members. The event proved to be just as advertised: high energy and inspiring.
With thoughts now firmly focused on this year’s competition, the team have just registered their Company and are now in the process of trialing the prototype of their new product. As the Christmas Trade Fare in Truro is only six short weeks away, there is much to do…….. so watch this space!
