Our Year 10 Young Enterprise students here at Fowey River Academy have achieved a resounding success with their new product, WhereB2: The Cornish Card Game. With support from Imerys Minerals and guidance from representatives of local businesses including ‘Any Old Lights’, ‘Love Fowey’ and ‘Bluefruit Software’ and their Young Enterprise Link Teacher, Ms Wehmeyer, the students have designed and developed a card game that can be played in the style of the traditional card games Rummy, Solitaire, Snap and Pairs, but using cards bearing the syllables that make up Cornish place names.
The students exhibited their cards for the first time at the Young Enterprise Christmas Trade Fair that was held at Cornwall Services, Roche on Saturday. The cards were a huge success and WhereB2, competing against teams from other Cornish schools and colleges, won the much-coveted prize of ‘Best Business Case and Communication’.
Director Liam Sandey tweeted, “Amazing day selling WhereB2, such a great experience as well as learning so much’.
